our work named as one of the TOP 20 SPRING BOUQUETS

With two events to focus on last weekend (and another two this weekend!) we are a bit tardy to the party on posting this, but we were so thrilled to find out last week that this pink and purple bouquet we created in 2013 was featured as one of the TOP 20 SPRING BOUQUETS on Elizabeth Anne Designs--one of our fave blogs!

Click on the highlighted link above to view a slideshow showcasing our bouquet along with the rest of the featured beauties. Enjoy!

kaylee + landon, the cute "urban garden" couple

I first met Kaylee last year before she even got engaged when she reached out to me and gushed about her love of both flowers and of our work.  So naturally, I liked her right from the get-go.  A couple of months later she was engaged and meeting with me in a consultation appointment (along with the hubs-to-be).  When I learned that their event concept was based on an "Urban Garden" vibe, I was so excited.  I love that aesthetic!  I am very excited about their designs coming up very soon.

Kaylee took her bridal portraits last week and the photos from that will wow you to be sure.  Imagine the most giant headwreath you've ever seen on the Blossom Sweet Blog (and that's saying something), and you'll have an idea of the kind of beauty you're in for.  Keep an eye out!

And now, please enjoy the love story of Kaylee + Landon.

How did you meet?
My little sister set us up on a blind date!

What did you do for your first date?
We went to Wendy's and talked for an hour. We didn't hit it off right at first. We grew on each other.

Who said "I love you" first?
Landon did. He's the sweetest.

What is the most unique thing about your relationship?
The most unique thing about our relationship is that we are nothing alike. All of our interests are completely different. He's a sneakerhead from Portland who loves football, hip hop, and Nike. I'm a lighthearted girly-girl from Utah who lives in dresses and loves floral and Taylor Swift. I think that is why it took us a little while to click. We are almost the complete opposite. We complement each other well, though.

What are your favorite qualities about each other?
she says: He is so sweet and thoughtful. He's funny and really good with people. He is determined and a dreamer. I think that is one of the reasons that I knew I had to marry him. I finally found someone whose dreams were as big as mine. I also love how much he makes me laugh every day!

he says:  I think the thing I admire most about her is how kind she is. Kaylee is nice to me, and while that may seem simple, it means more to me than anything.  Her kindness enables her to be a true friend, a compassionate listener, and a perfect companion.  I love how she's constantly learning more about her own style and how she likes to express it.  She works so hard and stays cute the whole time.  She's top notch and I love her for that.

How did he propose?
I flew to Portland to meet his family this past December, and he took me to a candlelit dinner at the Portland City Grill. Our table overlooked the whole city. It was breathtaking. He pulled me to the edge of the booth and got down on one knee and proposed. He got all choked up telling me how much he loved me. It was a really sweet and simple moment.

Where will you go on your honeymoon?
Waikiki, Hawaii! We are beyond excited!

Tell us a little about your event concept.
For our wedding we wanted to incorporate both of our styles, so we decided on the theme of an "Urban Garden." We want it to be a fun event with pizza and hip hop in a brick and hardwood venue with lots of lights, feminine colors, flowers and greenery (I've been obsessed with Blossom Sweet's work for awhile now, so obviously I am so excited to have them be a part of this).  We want it to be casual, but very pretty. We're so excited to see what they put together for us!
