sneak peeks

We've had a couple of pretty weddings so far this month and today we're starting on yet another.  It's sure-to-be-stunning, but before we dive in to this week's designs we thought we'd share a few little sneak peeks of our first two events of the month.  Professional photos will be posted at some point, but for now please enjoy our amateur snapshots.

The ga-ga-gorgeous centerpieces

wedding #2:

I just wanted to post the cake for now because, well, it was absolutely incredible.  The definitive focal piece of the event to be sure.

More to come!

couple spotlight: megan + allen

Our spring season came in like a lion this year!  We had our first spring 2014 event last weekend, and it was a wonderful wedding with gorgeous flowers everywhere.  Pretty, pretty, pretty!  We will be sharing a sneak peek of that wedding soon!

We also had another one of our March client's bridal portraits last weekend.  Her Sundance wedding is coming up at the end of the month and it's going to be a rustic stunner.  Can't wait!  Today we are sharing her love story in the form of a "couple spotlight," complete with la-la-lovely images from her engagements and "groomals" session.

Without further ado, enjoy getting to know Megan and Allen, and be sure watch for tons of pretty pictures from their wedding sometime in the future!

How did you meet?
We met at church a year and a half ago and were asked to lead a service committee together so we became best friends.

What did you do for your first date?
We had spent a lot of time together for months as friends (who always secretly had a crush on each other), but our first official date was to Spicy Thai (Thai is our favorite!) and then we walked around the Riverwoods and watched Pride and Prejudice.

Who said "I love you" first?
Well really, Allen told his sister first.  I glanced down at his phone as he was texting his sister about me one time and his text said, "I'm so in love!"  I started blushing and said, "You are??" After that we both openly said we loved each other all the time.

What is the most unique thing about your relationship?
From the first time we spoke, we felt a connection. The next time we really talked, sparks flew.  It really feels like we already knew each other when we first met. Throughout our relationship, it's felt like we've been remembering who each other is instead of getting to know each other.

What are your favorite qualities about each other?
She says:  Allen is the most selfless and giving person I know.  He is so patient and kind and is always a gentleman.  He also is always working to improve himself.  He is the most thoughtful person I know as well.  I can't count how many times he's given me the sweetest and most well thought out gifts.  He is constantly telling me how he feels about me and he is so uplifting and inspiring.

He says:  Megan is compassionate. She always cares for others and makes it a point to serve them; she loves others. She is free-spirited. I've never had more fun with anyone in my life! She is genuine and loyal. I felt like as soon as I met her I was meeting the real Megan. She lives in a way that shows her true nature and she's fiercely loyal.

How did he propose?
On New Year's Eve, we went to his parents' house and took a walk out in a park that's special to us.  All of a sudden candles started lighting up a path covered with roses.  The path led underneath a tree where he told me how he feels about me and how he wants to be with me forever.  Then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.

Where will you go on your honeymoon?
We're going on a cruise to the Bahamas!

Tell us a bit about your event concept.
We both love nature- especially trees and the mountains.  So we wanted to go with a rustic/woodsy feel for our reception.
