design show re-cap

If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram you already know that this past weekend we attended an all-day design show and workshop taught by Rene Van Rems, a floral expert who travels the world teaching other florists.  It was a long day but a great day.  We learned a lot about new tools and products to make our job easier and more effective. And anything that does that is great in our book!

We also came to realize more than ever that Blossom Sweet has a distinct aesthetic.  Rene Van Rems is insanely talented.  His work is beautiful.  And all that said, his designs are those we would not replicate--they just don't jive with our vibe.

That takeaway lesson can be passed on to you brides out there--find a florist whose style is a great representation of your vision.  Any good florist (emphasis on the word "good") will have a natural talent and artistic eye, but tastes differ from one person to the next.  Choose someone whose personal artistic preferences are akin to yours!

In closing, enjoy a photo of this BREATHTAKING, giant ranunculus which was used at the show.  Words can't begin to describe how beautiful it was in person, and it's a pity we only had a mere phone-cam to capture!
