evelyn's bridal portraits

Our last post featured the love story of this cute couple, and today's post will showcase their amazing groomals session shot in August by the ever-fabulous Alixann Loosle Photography.  Their actual wedding took place last weekend, and we will be sure to share photos of that soon as well!

Oh, and one more thing: Evelyn's dress blows our Blossom Sweet minds.

evelyn + marcelo

A wedding is coming up very soon
Of a gorgeous bride
And a handsome groom.

So excited for Evelyn & Marcelo's wedding this weekend.  It is going to be truly stunning!  Evelyn herself is a talented photographer in the industry (Evelyn Eslava Photography), so we were flattered to be her florist of choice.  She's a detail-oriented soul and we cannot wait to see her plans and our designs come together.

How did you meet?
We met long ago, the summer before my last year of high school at a friend's house after a day at Lagoon.  He actually wanted to meet me when he saw a picture of me, so this was his opportunity.

What is the most unique thing about your relationship?
We think the most unique thing about our relationship is that even though we don't always think the same or like the same stuff (such as religion, food, music etc.), we respect each others opinions and love each other for who we truly are.  We are accepting of each other, and we somehow meet in the middle and like lots of stuff together.

Also, we have been dating for seven years.  He's from Salt Lake and I am from Orem, so long drives will be remembered from our dating years.  :)

What is your favorite thing to do for fun as a couple?
We just like doing whatever together, it can be anything fancy or just simple.  We like to watch movies at home or go eat in the middle of the night and talk to each other about everything.

What are your favorite qualities about each other?
She says:  My favorite qualities about him would be that he is such a smart guy, a super sweet guy, and he's just nice to everyone.  Plus, he knows how to cook.  ;)
He says:  My favorite qualities about Evelyn would be that she's a nice, talented, and smart girl.  But also, my favortite thing would be her heart -- she has a pure and sweet heart.
Tell us a little bit about your event design concept.
We wanted something simple, but at the same time elegant (yet not too over the top).  A little bit of a vintage and romantic feeling... but still whimsical!

How did he propose?
We went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill at Riverwoods Mall and then we drove up Provo Canyon.  When we got to the top we got outside of the car to see the lights from the city, and he looked at me and showed me a little box.  Then he opened it and I saw the ring and he simply asked me, "Would you marry me?"  I had a feeling this was happening... and I said... "Yes!"

lovestruck & moonstruck: holly + greg

We are over-the-moon excited for Holly's wedding tomorrow, the flowers are going to be insanely fantastic.  And speaking of moons, check out this couple's cute love story which contains romantic tales of "Full Moon Adventures".

How did you meet?
We actually met sometime in Jr. High.  We know we had at least one class together, 9th grade Spanish class.  Throughout Jr. High and High School we never really talked or hung out much but Greg was friends with my twin brother so that always kept us in reach of each other.  Once high school ended we started hanging out more and after Greg’s 2 year mission he called me for our first date.  Once we finally went on our first date (actually, from the night of our first kiss the night before) we were inseparable and have seen each other nearly everyday since.

What is the most unique thing about your relationship?
She says: One of the most unique things about our relationship (besides the fact that we’ve known each other since we were 12) is that I have a note from that 9th grade Spanish class where a friend had asked me for my top 5 crushes and I had Greg as my number one crush. I found that note after high school and told him about it. I like to think that my heart was in love with him way before my head knew about it.

He says:  Another unique thing about our relationship is our full moon adventures. Which you’ll hear a little bit more about further below...

When did you first know you were in love?
She says: On my birthday about a month after we’d started dating.
He says:  Within the first week of dating I knew that I loved Holly and wanted to marry her.

Tell us a little bit about your event concept and what you are most excited about regarding your wedding.
A romantic, slightly rustic garden party wedding in a beautiful backyard. Our colors are essentially neutrals (navy, cream and red-brown) accented by floral design.  I’m most excited to see it all come together especially to see the flowers which will primarily be providing most of the color.

What is your favorite thing to do for fun as a couple?
We have both “low key” and “high key” nights.  On low key nights we love just cuddling up and watching one of our favorite movies.  High key nights usually contain some sort of outdoor adventure like climbing on top of pavilions or hiking mountains together. We both love being in the outdoors and being active.

What are your favorite qualities about each other?
She says: Greg is so gentle and loving.  He always puts me first and is watching out for me.  I love that he’s super comfortable in the outdoors and will go on big adventures with me.  I also love his blonde hair and blue eyes, he’s a major cutie.

He says: I love that Holly is so kind, smart, pretty, thoughtful, sincere. I love her cute smile and long eyelashes. She is my best friend and I’m so excited to get to have her in my life for forever!

How did he propose?

When we first started dating we decided we were going to celebrate the full moon every month with something we call “full moon adventures.”  These have consisted of everything from night snowshoeing on the golf course to swinging under the moon light to watching the moon rise while eating cafe rio in the car.  On the night of June’s full moon we went on one of our favorite drives, up East Canyon to where East meets Emigration canyon.  We found a hill top, grabbed a blanket and started hiking up the hill.  We talked about our relationship, Greg said some really cute things about how unique our relationship is and especially how our full moon adventures kind of illustrate our relationship well... we love the outdoors, we go on adventures, etc.  When we got to the top of the hill he set out the blanket and I had turned away for a bit.  When I turned around he was on one knee.  He told me how much he loved me and that with every full moon our relationship had gotten so much better and each month he found that he loved me more and more and that he figured that if these adventures were any indication that our future together would continue to be amazing and decided that that night would be a good time to ask me if I would marry him.  And I said Yes!! Definitely the best Full Moon Adventure yet.

May you have many more "full moon adventures" for years to come.
