tessa + michael

The first in a string of weddings over the next week, Tessa and Michael are taking the plunge this very day!  We are ecstatic about their designs, composed using a neutral palette against the gorgeous mountain backdrop at Log Haven Restaurant.  Sigh.  Sure to be a stunner.

The beautiful Tessa has kindly agreed to have her love story featured here on the Blossom Sweet Blog, and we advise you to pay special attention to the proposal story - it's one of a kind to be sure!  And we're not talking about "one of a kind" in a cheesy way, just in a majorly cool way.  Enjoy.

How did you meet?
Michael studied abroad with my roommate and they became great friends. When they came back, he was over all the time and we ended up with the same group of mutual friends. After becoming good friends we ended up dating and things progressed from there!

What is the most unique thing about your relationship?
Probably how much we have already gotten to travel together. With my family living in China and moving to Thailand, we've been able to globe trot a bit (something we plan on doing more of!).

What is your favorite thing to do for fun as a couple?
We are big foodies. We love trying new restaurants and crazy foods.

What are your favorite qualities about your future hubs?
I love how patient and hardworking Michael is. He helps me think through things and figure stuff out when I'm stressed. I also love how goofy we can be together.

How did he propose?
Michael and come with me to China to visit my family (he was meeting them for the first time). I knew he was going to propose in the near future (he was getting the ring made in China...literally), however, I figured he would wait until after we were back in the U.S.

One night I wanted to take him to downtown and show him a few of my favorite places. We went out to eat and then up in the Shanghai Financial Center Tower. It is the tallest building in Shanghai and has the tallest observatory in the world. Little did I know that he would pop the question 100 floors up. We were looking at the view and he handed me a book and told me to read it. It had pictures of us from our entire time dating and on the back page it said "Marry me?". And next thing I knew he was down on one knee. Our good friends happened to be in Shanghai as well (what are the odds?) and they took pictures of the whole thing. It was great! Afterwards we took a river cruise through the city.

What has been your favorite aspect of being engaged?
I think just being able to start planning our life together has been so exciting.

Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We are honeymooning in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Michael's family has a condo there and I'm excited for him to show me around.
