my [homemade] peach tree!

I mentioned a few weeks back that I throw an annual summer dutch oven cobbler party. Well, last night was this year's soiree, and it was a hit once again! Such a fun summer tradition I have started. :) The party was adorable (naturally), but one decor item stood out as the focal piece. First, a little back story . . .

While picking up the party food @ Wally World late Monday night, I bought a huge can of peaches - just this one can was big enough for two of the four cobblers. Anyway, on aisle 7 of Walmart my creative juices got flowing and I thought to myself, "this vessel needs to be the base for a peach tree at my partay." And after that, the rest was history!

So here's the result:

Isn't it the cutest? I think the peach tree will be making an annual appearance from here on out! Until then . . .

supplies used: bulk-sized peach can, curly willow sprayed chocolate brown, twine, 8 fresh peaches, lemon leaf, bear grass (and lots of it!), trick dianthus, rudbeckia.

PS, I'm Vanessa and I used to work at Red Mountain. Remember me? Perhaps not, but I love your blog. I found the link from my cousin Becky Katoa. Anyway, I love seeing your creations. So inspiring!
