double wedding weekend? get out of town!

I will be out of the office for the next 9 days and will not have access to email. I will have access voice-mail and will return calls on a limited basis until I return.

Holly & Morgan are entering into marital bliss this fine morning [what beautiful light they will have - perfect weather!], and I snagged a few photos before handing over the flowers.

Actually, as I'm writing this, I just got a text from the bride [Holly #3], telling me thank you and that the "...flowers are GORGEOUS!" Ah, no matter how many times I get them, I do love such texts from brides when they see their flowers for the first time. Makes me smile. :)

Anyway, back to the post. The photos may be grainy [so mad at my busted camera! it must have rolled around in the bottom of my purse with all my lip glosses one too many times... let's be honest] but they are still beautiful and will give you a small glimpse into Holly's wedding [hopefully I'll get more photos at some point].

Enjoy! Good luck today, Holly & Morgan!

The bouquet [notice the handle treatment - Holly's wedding has somewhat of a monogram theme]:
The corsages [lovely]:
The mini-bout [my favorite! for the bride's 7 year old brother. so dainty, so precious!]:

flowers used: peonies [2 shades], esperance roses, spray roses, viburnum, hydrangea, queen anne's lace, ivy, lily grass, mini callas.

colors: soft pinks & greens, cream, and champagne.

Now on to working on my other wedding which is tomorrow [photos to be posted at a later time]. And what do I do after I have a double wedding weekend? I GET OUT OF TOWN! Yes, I will be going out of town directly following tomorrow's event. I'm headed to sunny Palm Springs, CA and I'm really excited - I have been insanely busy lately and can't wait for this ultra-relaxing retreat!

Have a great weekend everyone! See you in about a week!

We have two Blossom Sweet weddings coming up this weekend, one of which is the wedding of Hilda and Tyler. They sent me over some info for a spotlight, so without further ado...

We went out on the pier at Utah Lake and I gave her a piggy back ride.

What is the one thing your are most excited about in regards to getting married?

Leslie & Cory were married back in March, and just sent me some of the photos from their groomals session. Enjoy!

photography by gallery photography

Beautiful couple:These last two pictures have nothing to do with flowers, but knowing Leslie and Cory and their fun-loving personalities, I have to include them. A little duck chasing if you will:
Thanks, L + C!

Watch for their newlywed couple spotlight & wedding photos soon.

one more

I had one more mother's day arrangement to share with you, but I had to wait until after it had been delivered to the recipient yesterday evening.

The recipient was my very own mother, from my very own father, who is currently traveling in Asia but wanted her to have flowers for Mother's Day. She loved it! This pic was sent via email to my dad upon her receiving it:
Can't wait to see it in a few days when all the lilies and dahlias are open!

flowers used: french tulips, oriental lilies, dahlias, lisianthus, veronica,

mothers day

This has been the busiest week ever . . . EVER! This weekend especially. But, everything that was keeping me busy turned out superb, so, I deem my week a hectic success.

Rachel & Scott were married this weekend, and their wedding was picturesque. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Photos from the fab photographer @ their event to come soon!

For now, let me share with you a couple of photos I took today of some Mothers Day special orders I designed (sorry for the grainy texture):

order #1, extra-large focal piece:

order #2, three piece collage arrangement:
flowers used: veronica, parrot tulips, dahlias, gladiolus, oriental lilies, viburnum, kale, curly willow

And because a Mothers Day post wouldn't be complete without a shout-out to my own Madre Fantastico, here's a shot of mom & me in 1990:
I remember this as if it were yesterday. All I had to do was tell the makeover artists (at the MALL, I must add . . . "Shooting Stars" to be exact) what my favorite colors were, "PINK and PURPLE!" and they took care of the rest. And they did it brilliantly. You know, nothing screams "classy" like bunched/teal/metallic satin and 96 pounds of violet et mauve tulle.

Here's to being classy in 2010, Mom. I crazy love you.

Happy Mothers Day!

'tis the season for potrait bouquets - may's photo of the month

Since this is the busy season for bridal portraits to be taken, I thought it would be appropriate to feature a portrait bouquet for this month's photo of the month. So, here we have one of my favorite photos of Blossom Sweet's portrait bouquets - from Caitlin's session last summer. It was quite simple, and quite simply lovely:

flowers used: dubium, lily grass, craspedia
