mon inspiration

I'm back and California was wonderful, but it's good to be home. I'll post photos from my trip on my personal blog within the next couple of days.
I just came across this photo {courtesy of MS Weddings} while looking through my "inspiration files" and fell in love with the colors! I loved the colors so much in fact that I decided to pattern my blog after them. Hope you like the new look!

{winna winna, out of office, & liz's bouquet}

This will be a three-part post.

First, thanks for the great giveaway response! We have a winna!
Congrats to Rachel,
the "celebrate 10,000 hits with a giveaway" winner!

Second, I will be OUT OF OFFICE from Sunday, July 19 through Monday, July 27. I will not have access to internet, but if necessary I can be reached by cell phone @ 801-669-4646.

And last but not least, let's focus on Elizabeth's bridal sitting bouquet I designed this morning. Elizabeth is getting married in Park City next month and I'll tell you what- this is one event I am ECSTATIC about! I could have cried this morning because I LOVE this bouquet but I had zero time to take decent photos, so the few pictures I did get do not do it justice!

However please enjoy the few snapshots I was able to get:

design elements:
Brooch: I'm a big proponent of brooches on bouquets; I have my special stash of them.
Ribbon: Imported Dutch Satin, champagne brown.
Flowers: Dahlias, hanging amaranthus, lisianthus, hydrangea, coneflower, millet, and china berries.

I received a voicemail today from Elizabeth about her bouquet, in which she said (among other things) that the bouquet was, "absolutely the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I love it!" Well, let's just say that as much as I was sad I didn't get the best photos in the world, her message completely made up for it! Thanks, Elizabeth. I'm SO glad you loved it, and I hope the bridals went fantastically well! I love having happy brides.

Have a great coming week, everyone!

{nuptial nook- homespun vintage}

I have been lacking in the Nuptial Nook department lately! For our newer readers, "Nuptial Nook" is a series we do here at Blossom Sweet which features ideas and inspiration dealing with all things wedding. We've featured color palettes, local vendors, dresses, flowers, cakes, original guest book ideas, etc.

For this week's nook, the concept is "homespun vintage". The inspiration is taken from a post I came across @
Southern Weddings, which is a source we've featured before. I always find fantastic inspiration at the SW blog! You can see the original post here, where you'll also be able to find out specifics on vendors used and the like.

Sometimes certain designs just catch my fancy, and this was absolutely one of those designs! I find the palette charming and the atmosphere stunning. They captured "homespun vintage" to a T.

{michele and alan}

Michele and Alan were married in April, and Michele was sweet enough to email me some of her favorite bouquet photos that she received from her photographer. Thanks, Michele!

my personal favorite:

And I'll close today's post off with a sweet note Michele sent me that I so much appreciated! Thanks, M & A!

"Thank you SO much for doing the flowers for the wedding!!! They looked perfect. I like the bouquet in the one of Peyton (Alan's niece), she could hardly hold it up. And now she seems to associate me with bouquets of flowers. Every time she sees one she points, says "Ichele?" and starts looking around for me.
Hope that all is going well. I will recommend you to anyone getting hitched in the near or distant future. You are so talented and your love for your work really shows."

{i'm back}

I just got back in town and I've decided to start my own personal (non-business) blog so that I can avoid using this blog for so many personal posts. I just posted about Lake Powell- it was so fun! It's good to be back though- and I have a LOT of catching up to do. I'll be returning emails tomorrow, I promise!

My new blog:
