Devri!
You'll get your prize this week. Thanks to all who entered!

Enjoy this collage of wedding appropriate designs using wheatgrass. See the orginal post here.

Want to try your hand at growing your own? If your thumb is itching to be green, you should be able to purchase wheatgrass seeds at any local nursery. It's also a fun project for kids since it starts sprouting so quickly and is nearly impossible to ruin. Good luck!

Wheatgrass facts/tips:
  • Soaking the seeds in room temperature water for 6-12 hours before planting will accelerate sprouting. It will sprout anywhere between 3-7 days.
  • For your wheatgrass to last longer after planting, use a container with drainage holes so the soil doesn't get flooded.
  • Spread the seeds evenly over soil, and then cover with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of soil
  • I always make sure to use a thick layer of seeds, otherwise the blades of grass will be sparse and it looks much better full.
  • Water daily, just enough to keep the soil moist.
  • When it gets to the desired height, it is fine to trim the grass so it's all the same level. The grass should last through 2-3 cuts.
  • Place the container in an area that will get a lot of indirect sunlight.
