{mandatorily reflective- my official new year's post}

Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe it is 2009. The past year feels that it has gone by so fast, but at the same time it felt like it would never end! How is that even possible?

I'm excited for 2009. I went back and read my journal from this time last year, which was about one week before I returned from my mission "in the state of GEORGIA!". This is why I'm grateful for journals- because I had written about a conversation I had with my companion on New Year's Eve that I had completely forgotten about until now. Here's an excerpt from January 1, 2008:

"...Last night neither Sister Stokes or I could fall asleep so we laid
awake talking in our room. She asked me what my 'new year's resolution' was. I thought about it for a minute and then I said, 'Well, in my life so far, 2007 has been the best year overall. My goal is to make 2008 even better'..."

So like I said, I had completely forgotten that I even said that until a couple of weeks ago. And that's pretty sad when you don't even remember your big resolution! I figure that since I forgot about it until 2008 was over, I may as well transfer it to 2009! As far as I know that's kosher. :)

So there you have it.

And so far so good! I had a great birthday last Sunday- my 24th! As I've been saying the last little while knowing that this 'milestone' was coming, "It's the last year one box of candles will be enough!" That's right folks. It happened. I am two dozen.
I have a feeling that my 24th year will be superb. I'm ready to OWN my 24th year! I really do have a feeling that it will be the 'best year of my life so far'.

HAPPY 2009!
